Along with delisting episodes he doesn't like, another idiosyncracy with Jon is his tendency to go on hiatus for weeks or months at a time, making minimal social media contact during this time. Due to his slow, irregular upload pattern, hiatuses will only be counted if they last for 50 days or longer.

To date, Jon has had 10 gaps in his production schedule that could be construed as hiatuses since 2012. His longest and most recent hiatus comprised almost the entirety of 2018, before returning on December 2nd. Throughout 2017 and 2018, JonTron was on hiatus for 18 of the 24 months.

Game Grumps Hiatus 1 (2012 - 2013)

JonTron's first hiatus fell between his Drunkstravaganza two-part collaboration with Continue? on October 3rd, 2012, and Space Ace on January 29th, 2013, totaling 118 days. However, this was during Jon's early days with Game Grumps, and so was mostly busy producing videos with Egoraptor in this timeframe.

Game Grumps Hiatus 2 (2013)

A longer hiatus during his time with Game Grumps immediately followed his Space Ace video and lasted to Hercules Games on September 24th, 2013, reaching 238 days before Jon returned to a more frequent upload schedule upon his departure from Game Grumps.

Minor Hiatuses (2013 - 2016)

For the next three years, JonTron maintained a regular upload schedule with occasional smaller gaps in between, last around 2 months each. There were six of these such gaps.

Major Hiatus 1 (2016 - 2017)

Jon's first major hiatus since his departure from Game Grumps in late 2013 began following his Christmas with the Kranks episode, which concluded his third era. His next video would be Vanilla Ice: Cool as Ice 244 days later, stretching from December 25th, 2016, through to August 26th, 2017.

Major Hiatus 2 (2017 - 2018)

After just five videos uploaded each month through the final five months of 2017, JonTron would go on another, even bigger hiatus, taking up almost the entirety of 2018. From December 23rd, 2017, through to December 2nd, 2018, VR Troopers was his newest video for over 344 days until Flex Tape II: The Flexening came out, commencing JonTron's fifth era.

Major Hiatus 3 (2020 - 2021)

Following his Steven Seagal video that was uploaded on the first of August 2020, Jon took another hiatus that lasted nine months.

His new video, Old People Got Weird Products, came out 268 days later.
