Over the years, JonTron has had several intros.

Normal Intros[]

Daikatana Review[]

Only used in the "pilot" video, Daikatana Review. This intro features Jon walking down the middle of a road, with an overlay of several game screenshots and artwork overlaid onto him, with a short scene featuring Jacques, then JonTron is slowly zoomed into as he walks before finally showing his logo and it's soundbite.

The intro is noticeably cruder than ones used in future videos, including a brief camera pan downward at the end of Jacques section when Jon finished recording him and very shaky camera movement in the walking sequences.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness Review to Space Ace[]

First used in Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness Review and appeared near-consistently through Space Ace. Due to it's debut video being in widescreen, this intro was entirely redone, but still bears a close resemblance to the original intro. Jon's roadwalking sequence is on a different road, and Jacques now dashes towards the camera. The walking sequences have also been noticeably shortened in favor of two new sequences; A scene where Jon walks down a set of bridge stairs was added after the first walking sequence, and a scene where Jon is shown moving across the screen against a suburban backdrop was added between the Jacque sequence and the final walking sequence. The final walking sequence now uses a sidewalk and zooms into Jon, before his logo and it's soundbite plays.

Bubsy Collection to How to Play Counter Strike: Global Offensive[]

Bubsy Collection, Charlie's Angels for Gamecube, and How To Play Counter Strike: Global Offensive notably use a entirely different, much shorter intro. Two metal hazard sheets close in on the screen, before showing JonTron's logo and it's soundbite. JonTron's name is no longer vocalized during the intro.

Hercules Games to Vanilla Ice: Cool as Ice[]

Used from Hercules Games to Vanilla Ice: Cool as Ice, with minor details altered starting with Barbie Games. Instead of featuring real-life footage, this intro now features pixelated locations, with a few references to video game elements noticeable. Both walking sequences use pixelated versions of the original locations where JonTron was walking from the prior intro, and the bridge stair sequence now takes place underwater, although the tree to the left and staircase itself are modelled after the original location. The suburban sequence has been replaced with a lava ocean in the background. Jacques' scene has again been redone, this time featuring him briefly pecking at the ground before rising his head up on a view of a city. A short sprite animation now plays before the logo fades out. From its debut through The Zoo Race, this animation featured Jon and Jacques waving at the screen, before hopping offscreen. Starting with Barbie Games, this animation now features Jon and Jacques jumping onscreen, with Jon pressing a button to end the intro shortly after. After this intro concludes, a short sprite animation pretaining to the topic of the video plays. This intro was animated primarily by Micha Frar.

Details which were changed starting with Barbie Games include:

  • The addition of a shipwreck featuring Unagi to the right of the water section, and the relocating of Bubba to the left
  • The buildings in Jacques' section are more saturated, giving them a darker colour
  • The lava pool scene has several changes, including replacing the Yoshi's Island monster to the right with a different entity, changing the sky from blue to orange, adding a butterfly to the right, darkening the colours of the ground, and moving the clouds to the upper left

Since Flex Tape II: The Flexening[]

Starting with Flex Tape II: The Flexening, to reflect Jon's shift from games to more general popular culture videos, his intro has been entirely redone. Jon rises up to New York City with a worried expresion on his face, before being covered by clay, eventually turning him into a claymation version of himself. Shortly after realizing this, he screams silently,  before a Saxophone-playing Jon appears on a pedestal. This saxophone eventually lets out a note, which morphs into a space-age bus. Jon continues to play his sax, much to the annoyance of other passengers and it's driver, before bursting into another galaxy. Like his Bubsy Collection intro and his seasonal intros, JonTron's name is not vocalized when the logo is shown. The intro's animation was done by Studio Yotta. One notable person is Chris "Oney" O'Neil who was responsible for the claymation sequence, which was actually done in Blender.

Special Intros[]

Halloween[]

During October, Starting with 2013, Jontron does a Halloween version of his intro, with the sprite animations taking on a spookier atmosphere and the screenshots being taken from "Spooky" levels from video games. The music is also Halloween-themed, and towards the end, Gruntilda's laugh is heard. The logo at the end would have Halloween (written in blood) added to it, and the sprites of Jon and Jacques changed for every year. In 2013, Jon had his head blown off by Jacques, resulting in the Halloween subtitle. In 2014, Jon was dressed as Majora, and Jacques had the Halloween subtitle form from blood getting shot out of his eye. In 2016, Jon had green skin and was dressed in a pumpkin, and after pressing the button, his head got replaced with Jacques, who promptly shot blood out of his eye, like in 2014. 2017 had a simple 3D animation of a Jack-O-Lantern, and a plaque with "Jon's Spooky Halloween" engraved on it. 2019 had a Halloween version of Jon's new intro at the time, with the clay version of him having green skin, the background at the start having castles and a gorgon statue, and the ByrdBus (Renamed the "Magic Ghoul Bus) having a witch and a skeleton with it's mouth stitched shut sitting in the back, and the bus drives into a demonic face.

Christmas

Also beginning in 2013, Jon began to use christmas themed intros for videos made on christmas themed games or movies near the end of December. The music takes on a christmas/winter theme and all game screenshots used are from snow levels. The backgrounds are also snowy and with christmas elements. The animation of Jontron at the logo features him in a santa outfit.

Autumn

In both parts of JonTron's video on Food games, an Autumn themed version of his intro is used. While the music and game screenshots remains the same, the road during the first walking sequence is lined with orange trees and piles of leaves visible. There is yellow sunlight piercing through the water with Enguarde visible during the stair sequence, and the lava pool is replaced with leaf piles on a grassy plain. There are many leaves falling during all non underwater sections of the intro, including the city scene with Jacque, and both the city scene and final walking sequence has autumn themed colours of brown and orange. The Logo and accompanying animation remain unchanged.
